I don't have a credit card. What can I do? Many young people or youth groups have not received credit cards yet. In that case, some make a contract with an adult – a parent, advisor, teacher – to use his or her credit card and repay the sponsorship amount. You can also pay by check or international money order. Can my monthly donation be automatically debited from my credit card? Yes. Just check that option when you are filling in your sponsorship information. How are the orphans chosen for Young Heroes? Membership in Young Heroes is open to any child under the age of 18 who has lost both parents. We are signing up new children all the time by working with volunteers and community leaders in rural villages throughout Swaziland. Can I choose an individual child to sponsor? The goal of Young Heroes is to keep families together on their homesteads - where they have the chance to learn how to grow food on their own land - and in their communities where they can benefit from interacting with their neighbors. Therefore, we're asking you to contribute towards helping all the children in a family together, instead of singling out one in particular. Some orphans have no brothers or sisters, however; if you'd like to sponsor one individual, this could be an option for you. How does family sponsorship work? We have calculated the cost for essential food and clothing. If you sponsor all the children in a family, your contribution will meet all these needs. But many families have a large number of orphans. If you choose a partial sponsorship of a family like this, your contribution will be pooled with others until full sponsorship of the family is achieved. A quick glance at the family's page here on this Web site will show you how close we are towards meeting this goal of full sponsorship. NEXT PAGE - BACK TO FAQ OVERVIEW
