Creating Inclusive Communities for Children with Disabilities in Eswatini
Our Goal: Help children with disabilities in Eswatini enjoy equal rights to education, healthcare, protection, and inclusion, supported by sustainable, inclusive systems and empowered communities.
Implemented in partnership with Imbita Women’s Finance Trust.
This project is made possible with the generous support of the German Government (BMZ) with, and through, Kindernothilfe (KNH).
Communities, service providers, schools and leaders in 14 target communities create an inclusive environment.
This environment is where children with disabilities can attend school with appropriate support, receive equitable healthcare, have barrier-free access to social services and live in communities that respect and uphold their rights.
Supporting Objectives:
- Community members have increased their knowledge of the rights and available support services for children with disabilities.
- Service providers have the skills to provide quality social protection and health services for children with disabilities.
- The Ministry of Education and Training has improved inclusive learning for children with disabilities in 14 pilot schools with the individualized education plan
- The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO) coordinates and implements the NDPA at national and regional levels for improved realization of the rights of children with disabilities.
