DPM Launches Project: Creating Inclusive Communities for Children with Disabilities in Eswatini
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO) officially launched the Disability Inclusion project, which aims to create inclusive communities for children with disabilities in Eswatini. The project is implemented by Young Heroes and Imbita Women’s Finance Trust, with funding from BMZ and KNH Germany, and will run through December 2028.
The project’s overall goal is to ensure children with disabilities in Eswatini have equal access to education, healthcare, protection, and inclusion, supported by sustainable, inclusive systems and empowered communities. It unites government agencies, service providers, and civil society, targeting the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO), the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development (MTAD), the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Disability Council, non-governmental organizations, chiefs, Tinkhundla councils, teachers, healthcare workers, organizations of persons with disabilities, and community-based organizations.

Through coordinated leadership, enhanced services, and empowered communities, the initiative aims to reduce barriers to inclusive education and equitable healthcare, strengthen protection, and fight stigma and discrimination against children with disabilities. The partners also agreed to and signed a commitment to a collaborative, coordinated, and accountable partnership that guarantees inclusion, equity, and dignity for persons with disabilities in Eswatini. It demonstrates the German Government, BMZ, and KNH’s dedication to supporting Young Heroes and Imbita’s initiatives.
